Abobo’s Big Adventure is exactly what it says it is: the ultimate tribute to the NES. I don’t know how many of you actually remember this, but back when the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) was in it’s prime, there was a game called Double Dragon. It was a beat ‘em up, similar to River City Ransom or Streets of Rage, where you played as either Billy (Blue) or Jimmy Lee (Red) and fought through an onslaught of baddies and bosses, solo or with a buddy, in order to save the hot, kidnapped chick.
BAD ASS FACTOID!!: [SPOILER ALERT] The game was groundbreaking. If you and a friend were able to cooperatively play through the game, defeat the final boss and save the girl, then you were presented with one of my favorite twists in video game history: Who gets the girl? Once you beat the game, the games pits you against your partner, the same guy who’s put equal amounts of blood, sweat and tears into surviving waves upon waves of enemies with you, to see who is worthy of the girl you saved. The winner of this grudge match got the girl, but more importantly, ETERNAL BRAGGING RIGHTS. A-mazing. [END SPOILER]
More on Abobo after the break…

REVIEW: THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: SKYWARD SWORD (Wii)

DISCLAIMER: I don’t own a Wii. Never wanted to, never plan on it. Motion controls are still uninteresting to me and not playing games in 1080p makes me feel like I’m at my Grandma’s house (Sorry Honey Bunch). If I want to take time out of my day to relax and play a video game, I’d like to do just that. I don’t want to work a sweat by standing up and shaking my stick around like a complete fool.
… Wait that came out wrong.
Anyway, with that said, I’m still a sucker for Nintendo’s staple franchises: Mario, Metroid, Star Fox and, especially, Zelda. In fact The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the first game I ever beat, start to finish. To this day, the Ganondorf battle to collapsing Hyrule Castle escape to epic battle with the beast only known as Ganon is still one of the greatest, most compelling and down right bad ass finales to a game I have ever experienced. Needless to say, I was hooked on Zelda from there.
Fast forward to today and we have The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I was extremely skeptic when the title was first announced. Seeing screen shots of another cartoon Link, in addition to all these “total motion control” rumors, continued to worry me.
Good Lord was I wrong and I’m so happy to type that.

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION.
My Mom and Dad always told me to “do what you’re passionate about” and “just make sure you love what you do.” Well, since Natalie Portman never answers my calls, I decided to start a blog about games instead.
Gaming has always been a passion of mine. I’m not a serious gamer who thrives on the obliteration and dominance of others in competition, I just like games. I also love reading, watching and hearing other people’s opinions on games. So, I figured, why not share my own opinions?
This blog will serve as a collection of my game reviews, thoughts, opinions and ideas. As a disclaimer, I tend to rant a lot, get off topic, as well as make awful puns and spelling errors (apologies to my Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Lucatorto). *double-tap-chest-to-kiss-hand-to-point-at-the-sky-combo*
Oh no, she’s not dead, just an inspiration in my life who deserves some Sammy Sosa late 90’s type respect.
I also make, grammar & punctuation errors… every now; and then? so keep your red pens to yourself.
But seriously, I hope you enjoy my blog. It’s truly a passion of mine and I love sharing it with the world.
Batman Rules,
Andrew.
